Welcome to Kelly's Sanctuary

It all began in 2010, when we started becoming aware of the plight and suffering our Indies go through every day on the roads just to survive. We started with a few rescues that were boarded in kennels and slowly the numbers  grew over time. From boarding rescues in borrowed spaces to finally creating a permanent home in 2016 at Injambakkam, Chennai.  This sanctuary started small — just 25 to 30 dogs. But as COVID left many animals homeless, the mission grew. 

 

Kelly was one such rescue who met with an accident that left her with a spinal injury. What truly set her apart was her spirit of living. She never let her disability stop her from enjoying life and was truly a joy to behold. She became the heart and inspiration behind Kelly’s Sanctuary, a refuge built out of love and necessity. Injured, lost, and unwanted cats found their way here too.

 

Today, Kelly’s Sanctuary spans five serene acres off the Chennai–Pondy Highway — home to 70+ dogs, 40+ cats, and Seven cows. Every space is kept top-class: clean, well-ventilated, beautifully maintained, and filled with care. A team of six dedicated caregivers ensure that every one of them gets good food, comfort and compassion.

 

Running a place of this quality takes heart — and help. Funding is vital to sustain operations. Corporates and individuals can contribute or even virtually adopt a furry friend to support their upkeep.
